We are a small family-run homestead, farmers market booth, and humane chicken hatchery in Hesperus, Colorado. 

We specialize in raising healthy and robust chickens producing unique egg colors. Our foundation stock maintains Standards of Perfection within their breeds. Temperament, vitality, and hardiness are three important foundations within our program. We strive for the best biosecurity measures to ensure you receive healthy new flock members.  We are considered a humane hatchery as we do not discard any male chicks that are hatched. Male chicks are raised to maturity and allowed to roam and enjoy the sunshine. You can find hatching eggs that are carefully gathered and stored, day-old chicks, grow-outs, adult hens, and roosters. 

Alongside our hatchery, we offer pasture-raised eggs, microgreens, plant starts, and garlic both seed and culinary. In the fall we offer whole turkeys raised on pasture and GMO-free feed. Our pasture-raised eggs are available for delivery and pick up at The Bayfield Farmer’s Market. Our flock of laying hens is raised and supplemented with feed free of GMOs, corn, and soy. We source locally for our feed supporting local producers and milling. We offer a variety of vegetables, herbs, and flower seedlings beginning in May. You can also find a few other seasonal offerings such as Jams, Apple Butter, and our handcrafted body scrubs.
